Liberty Grotto raises more than £10,000 for local charity.
In November, The Liberty Shopping Centre launched its “biggest and best grotto” yet, bringing the magic of the North Pole to Romford.
The spectacular ice grotto attracted shoppers far and wide to come along to meet Santa and his mischievous elves in the run up to Christmas. All 2467 children who visited Santa left with their very own Christmas gift and a magical memory to last a lifetime.
Priced at just £5 per child (plus an online booking fee of £1 per family), tickets were in high demand and sold out quickly, proving just how popular the new grotto was with shoppers. Upon launching the grotto, it was announced that all ticket proceeds would be donated to Mitchell’s Miracles, The Liberty’s resident charity.
Adrian Racaru, Marketing Manager at The Liberty Romford, has now revealed that the grand total raised for Mitchell’s Miracles exceeded £10,000.
Beaming with pride, he added, “Thank you so much to everyone who visited our grotto this Christmas and helped us raise this incredible amount of money for a very deserving charity. Without you, it wouldn’t have been possible.
“We’ve had so much positive feedback from people’s experiences at the grotto and we loved seeing everyone’s photos. There really is nothing more magical than Christmas!
“We look forward to welcoming you back to The Liberty for even more fun in 2024.”
Kristel Huth, Founder of Mitchell’s Miracles Charity commented: “Mitchell’s Miracles charity are so very grateful to The Liberty management team for their impeccable support, and for choosing our charity to raise donations with the Ice Grotto, to support families of a child with Neuroblastoma childhood cancer.
“We would also like to thank the wonderful community for supporting this magical event.”
